MIPS business development in Israel will drive Automotive, Industrial, Data Center Infrastructure, and Communications Infrastructure market growth, fueled by the open and modular MIPS RISC-V processor IP portfolio for Physical AI
SAN JOSE, Calif., October 13, 2025 – MIPS, a GlobalFoundries company, announced today that Moshe Hillel has joined as head of Business Development for Israel. In this role, Moshe will drive MIPS RISC-V adoption across the region, building on his extensive background in semiconductor solutions for analog and digital embedded application processing to support MIPS mission to advance the next wave of physical AI.
“The MIPS mission to drive intelligence into action with RISC-V continues to increase momentum as the need for open, modular computing combined with workload-focused platforms at the edge,” said Sameer Wasson, MIPS CEO. “Moshe’s deep expertise in building platforms around key applications from the software and ecosystem requirements down to the hardware will be a force multiplier for growth with the MIPS atlas portfolio.”
The challenges of deploying embedded edge AI require event-driven, real-time computing technology. The MIPS Atlas portfolio of RISC-V-based processor IP is designed to address the challenge and enable next-generation platforms featuring Physical AI. MIPS has a deep heritage in workload focused computing, including adoption in multiple generations of advanced driving assistance systems chips. The Atlas portfolio leverages the open and modular nature of RISC-V to enhance processor microarchitectures and chip designs with an application specific focus, functional safety options, and multithreading capabilities to deliver efficient low-latency performance.
“The time is right to develop new embedded and edge platforms using open and modular technology, accelerating the growth of AI in new markets.” said Moshe Hillel, Israel Business Development. “I look forward to continuing my work of developing complex applications in multiple markets and driving the growth of MIPS RISC-V processor IP adoption. The needs of real-time and event-driven computing will be served well by the MIPS Atlas portfolio offerings.”
Moshe joins MIPS from Texas Instruments, where he served in various roles, most recently as General Manager of TI Israel for 15 years, and 22 years leading commercial activities working with many companies developing complex applications in multiple markets. Moshe holds an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern university and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic engineering from Tel Aviv university.
