Senior Automotive Functional Safety Engineer

India

This position requires an experienced automotive functional safety engineer to work with all stakeholders (CPU development team) to ensure that the system consisting of hardware and software components is functionally safe and compliant with ISO 26262 standard.

Minimum Qualifications

Hands on experience working with ISO 26262 Functional Safety standard
Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 8+ years of industry experience
Minimum 3 years of experience architecting, designing, or validating ISO 26262 certified automotive functional safety systems
Experience with quality management processes and systems
Self-motivated with excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills, and ability to collaborate well locally and with global team

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with processor-based systems including hardware and software
Experience with IP/SoC development for automotive products
Experience working with 3rd party certification houses
Experience doing periodic audits / reviews to ensure safety processes and standards are being followed in the organization.

Roles and Responsibilities

Build and champion the safety culture while guiding the design and SW teams to develop the products efficiently as per ISO26262 specifications.
Develop functional safety requirements, safety plan and perform safety analysis – FTA, FMEA, FMEDA and HARA etc.
To derive safety concepts based on safety requirements
Define templates, drive and coordinate the creation of safety work products as per ISO 26262
Provide representation at external customer reviews/audits of safety architecture, and support safety audit of vendors and partners
Train engineers on ISO 26262
